So, the original plan was for my shift to come in to work after TS Fay passed by us...unfortunately, at 0515 this morning I got the call to come into work...alright, so I was already up, watching the news, listening to the storm outside, wondering why I was going to venture out into the storm, right as it was starting...The first time I opened the door to go out to my car, I saw several branches fly by--I closed and locked the door to wait a little while longer.
15 mins later, I head out to our temp office at the HS in the library and sit...I could have done that at home!
We did almost nothing most of the day except drive around and look for obstacles in the road...I did find 2 teens (boy and girl)playing in the swale on 47th...they got out after I told them that peoples septic tanks sometimes flood during storms and go into the swales! Don't know if that's true or not but it was funny to watch them scramble out of the water!
We ate really well -- Dawn made fried egg sandwiches for breakfast and Homemade Mac and Cheese for lunch, which everybody loved. My mom made Texas sheet cake and they loved that too. Grady's wife made great chili...We spread the food around throughout the afternoon...
Anyway, there was nothing funny or exciting...I started this blog thinking I had something interesting to write but nothing yet! I might have to start making stuff up...
